Around the Resort
During your next
vacation, you can relax in three different natural environments, all at
one resort. Only Wandawood offers you 1000 feet along the friendly
shores of Elk Lake, 35 acres of old orchard and forested areas and a serene
wilderness beach on Grand Traverse Bay.

At
Elk Lake, you can enjoy swimming, sailing and boating, or just lounging
in the sun. The resort waterfront includes two rafts plus nine beaches
each with a dock. Row boats, canoes and paddleboards may be rented by
the day or week. Next to the resort office, two ping pong tables,
a tetherball game and a sandbox offer entertainment for the young and
old alike, with equipment for croquet available on request. Along
the Wandawood service drive, resorters enjoy strolling, jogging and playing
catch or Frisbe. Each of the cottages has some private yard area,
with a picnic table, a few yard chairs and a charcoal grill provided. At
the Wandawood Office, you will find a collection of brochures and information
on local events as well as a paperback library.

Many
resorters enjoy exploring the orchard areas and wooded pathways in the
35 acres across Cairn Highway from the center of the resort. This
area gives you the opportunity to spend time away from the water in a
restful environment reminiscent of the farming history of the property.

The
250 feet of private Wandawood Resort frontage at Grand Traverse Bay is
adjacent to 2,500 feet of frontage which was donated by our family to
the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy over past years. At
the Bay property, you can experience solitude during long walks along
the wilderness beach or just relax in the sun and water. To acquaint
you with the Bay property and to give you the opportunity to meet other
guests, we sponsor picnics on the Wandawood beach at the Bay almost every
week during the summer.
